A member of Team Canada’s gold medal winning squad at the 2004 World Championships, Matt Cooke was also a Stanley Cup winner with Pittsburgh in 2009. This Penguins alternate captain’s jersey was worn by the Belleville native in 2010-11, and it’s been photo-matched. Size tagging along with a Reebok name band sits affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring an attractive Penguins team crest, the solid black V-neck has been embellished with oversized and textured triple-twill numbers and name-on-nameplate. The “Inaugural Season” patch referencing the first season at the Consol Energy Center resides over the right shoulder. The team patch of this “Set 2” garment sits on the inside hem, with a matching LOA to accompany.
We should also note that this garment sports customized sleeves and fight strap. Game-wear includes board burns on the lower front, with additional examples including small resulting holes over each sleeve. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-match, Getty image #110844771 from March 20th 2011 has been matched to the long loose thread on the lower right corner of the "2" on the left sleeve, and to the mark and unrepaired holes below it.
