A modern day legend currently sitting at third for all-time points, superstar Jaromir Jagr is widely considered the greatest European player to ever lace up the skates. This Washington Capital’s jersey was worn by the future Czech HOFer in 2002-03, and it’s been photo-matched. Size “56” tagging from CCM sits affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the bottom hem and back neckline respectively. Styled with the Washington Capitals team crest in use from 1997 to 2007, the solid white v-neck has been adorned with tri-colour tackle twill numbers along with alternate crests featuring the Capitol over each shoulder. The team patch from Cutting Edge resides on the inside hem along with a MeiGray patch numbered A04481, and according to the accompanying MeiGray LOA, this jersey is a “White 1st Regular Season” example.
Game-wear on the important sweater is heavy, with puck and stick marks on the front and over both sleeves. Faint board burns are also present, along with a bit of both red and blue paint transfer over the right elbow and on the upper right sleeve. There are also 5 team repairs, with four grouped together along the front lower striping band, along with a single example just above the left cuff. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-match, an included photo has been matched to the large and distinct series of dark marks located just above the team crest. The jersey is also photo-matched to October 30th 2002 Getty image #1654846 to the black mark below the 6 on the left sleeve, to November 7th 2002 Getty image #1656132 to the black mark below the 6 on the left sleeve, to November 9th 2002 Getty image #1670796 and November 19th 2002 Getty image #1749291 to the big black mark below the front collar and to the same mark on December 6th 2002 Getty image #1796077. Jagr would finish the 2002-03 NHL season, his thirteenth in the league, with 77 points in 75 games played.
