Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
A day Winnipeggers won’t soon forget, the purchase of the Atlanta Thrashers in 2011 paved the way for the triumphant return of hockey to the Manitoba capital. In this lot we have a Winnipeg Jets jersey worn by Evander Kane in 2012-13, and it’s been photo-matched. With size 56 tagging in the collar, the jersey sports Reebok and NHL patches on the front and back necklines respectively. Accented with dual-colour tackle twill numbers and name-on-nameplate, the garment also features matching alternate patches over each shoulder. Game-wear includes just a few random marks along the garment's front and on the team crest, with 6 team repairs present. There are 3 over the right sleeve, along with single examples on the front, verso and over the left sleeve. As mentioned, this sweater has been photo-matched. Getty image #161466041 from Feb 5th 2013 has been matched to the black mark at the left of the team crest. We should also note that the Jets team patch remains affixed to the inside hem, while the team’s inventory bar code has been placed just above the fight strap.
