Featuring the wonderful, colorful images of many of hockey’s elite at the time, this group of O-Pee-Chee posters ranks among the nicest we’ve handled over the years. Manufactured on thin fragile paper, the posters were folded and originally in strips of two when sold in packs back in the day. Edge tears and holes/slits in fold lines are more often than not present, but are refreshingly minimal with this ensemble, with not a single pin hole, another flaw oftentimes present, seen anywhere - nice. The star-laden lineup includes Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito in their heyday, Chicago leaders Bobby Hull and Tony Esposito, legendary goalies Jacques Plante and Gump Worsley, youngsters Gilbert Perreault, Guy Lafleur and Ken Dryden early in their illustrious careers and fellow Hall-of-Famers Tim Horton, Dave Keon, Norm Ullman, Bob Pulford, Jean Ratelle, Rod Gilbert and Yvan Cournoyer, with a team photo of the 1970-71 Stanley Cup champion Montreal Canadiens a dandy complement. A few condition exceptions are as follows: A four-inch slit in the Dale Tallon poster, Tony Esposito has a tiny hole at a fold line, a tiny split in Orland Kurtenbach, three small edge tears and a quarter-size stain in the Perreault example, a tiny edge tear in Plante, a one-inch edge tear in Phil Esposito and two tiny edge tears and a small border stain in Dryden. A few of the posters have rather non-detracting side-to-side ripples, while a four-inch crease in the upper left corner of the Canadiens poster is the only real heavy crease throughout. All-in-all, a real good-looking set, the likes of which surfaces very seldom.
