Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Featuring hockey’s greatest pair of Croziers, we have three different awards including a pair that originates from the collection of former defenceman and coach Joe Crozier, along with a shutout award that was presented to superstar netminder Roger Crozier. The shutout award is in the form of a 5" mug with glass bottom, with the logo of the Sabres engraved, along with “1974-75 Shut Out Award/Roger Crozier/4-0 vs Atlanta 11-17-74/4-0 vs California 1-15-75/5-0 vs Los Angeles 2-27-75”. The mug exhibits a few marks and scratches, but displays beautifully. The first of the two awards that were presented to Joe Crozier, we have a 10 ½” x 14” shield-style plaque with mounted player, along with a pair of affixed plates. The top plate states “Louis A. Wehle Memorial Sports Award”, while the plate beneath has “Presented to Joe Crozier by Church of Christ The King Men’s Club Rochester N.Y. March 12, 1967”. The second plaque is also a shield-style example at 9” x 13” with mounted player (broken hockey stick) and affixed plate. The brass plate states “The Hockey News/Minor League Coach Of The Year/Joe Crozier/Rochester Americans/1967-68”. Both plaques exhibit a few scratches and marks, but display well. The 1967-68 plaque also has a sticker from maker V.H. Lang on the reverse. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
