This antique composite team photo by noted hockey photographer Pittaway features the famous 1905 Ottawa Hockey Club. Known previously as the Generals, the Silver Seven were led by the scoring prowess of Frank McGee, along with Rat Westwick and Harvey Pulford. Ottawa held the Stanley Cup for three consecutive seasons, culminating with their famous defense against Dawson City in 1905 when McGee scored a record 14 goals in one game. The 13 ½” x 16 ½” photo is affixed to its original mount, and appears to be in the original frame, with full dimensions of 23 ½” x 26 ½”. Mounting holes at the top and bottom sections of the frame are present, with original display in a venue associated with the team very possible. Originally produced in very limited supply, this amazing composite photo is worthy of the most advanced world class hockey collection.
The image area appears to be completely clean and problem free, with some staining present along very bottom portion of the mount, and on the left hand side. There is also some light toning in a few spots.
