Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Hailing from the personal collection of Ted Lindsay, we have three of the Hall of Famer’s jackets. First we have a heavy Red Wings jacket produced by Roots. In solid red with white leather sleeves, a Detroit team crest sits over the left breast with an NHL Alumni “Stanley Cup of Golf” patch embroidered on the left sleeve. The second jacket is an alumnus example, with “Ted Lindsay” embroidered onto the left breast, along with attractive images of the 1950, ’52, ’54 and ’55 Cup wins on the reverse. Made by Free Country, tagging is intact and it appears to have never been worn. The final garment is Ted’s 1998 Team Canada Roots jacket from the Nagano Olympics in 1998. An LOA from the Lindsay family will accompany.
Tagging is intact on the large sized 1998 Olympic jacket, with an Olympic rings/maple leaf crest over the left breast along with the Nagano Games patch on the right sleeve. The back features a larger example of the chest crest along with “Canada” in chenille. “98” also appears in chenille over the left sleeve. All three jackets remain in beautiful condition with just light wear.
