Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Daoust “National” model leather and nylon skates with Tuuk blades used by Johnny Bucyk at the end of his 23-year NHL career are quite the change from what the Hall-of-Famer wore when he began his pro career with the Red Wings way back in 1955! These ones show nice game use with the tendon guards stripped of their brown finish because of shin guard tape having been applied and removed numerous times. The bottoms of the boots have “9” added in black marker while the blades are protected by leather “canoe” guards. Intriguing equipment which helped the left winger extend his lofty scoring totals were originally obtained directly from Mr. Bucyk.
