Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017

The Golden Brett took the first of the 15 remaining steps he needed to take to reach the 500-Goal Club from the outset of the 1996-97 campaign with his first goal of the season. HOF right wing Brett Hull scored his 486th goal with this Easton Ultra A/G 6000 two-piece game-used stick on October 11, 1996 when he shot past Edmonton’s Curtis Joseph in the Blues’ 3-1 win against the Oilers at Northlands Coliseum. Goal details are handwritten on a piece of vintage white hockey tape on the back of the Easton Ultra A/G 6000’s composite shaft, which retains Hull’s original tape job with gauze tape on the knob, as does the Christian wood blade insert. Comes with Brett Hull’s signed LOA.
“#486 Game Winner St. Louis 3 Edm 1 10/11/96 Cujo” is handwritten on the tape affixed to the back of the shaft.
There is a faint “Hull” stamp on the shaft of the blade insert.
