From a 100-plus point season, we have Sidney Crosby’s Reebok composite stick used in a 4-2 victory over the Rangers on Jan 25th 2010, where Sid assisted on a pair of goals. The blade and shaft/knob retain Crosby’s tape jobs, with “S Crosby 2” factory graphics appearing on the upper shaft. A sticker on the underside of the shaft divulges the stick’s provenance with “1/25/10 @ New York Rangers (4-2) Win 2 Assists". Game-use includes wear to the taped section of blade, along with a small piece that has broken off along the top section above the heel. Originally obtained directly from Crosby, a Frameworth hologram remains affixed to the lower shaft, and an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
Crosby won the Mark Messier Leadership Award in 2009-10, the same season this stick was used in. He also shared the Maurice Richard Trophy when he scored a career-high 51 goals to tie for the league lead with Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos. Generally regarded as the game’s greatest current player, any and all Crosby game-used material will only increase in value and desirability as time moves forward.
