Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
In operation for over forty years, the Quebec Aces were members of the QSHL, the QHL, and finally, the American Hockey league from 1959-1971. This Quebec Aces jersey was worn in the late-1960s. With a General Athletic laundry instruction tag on the inner seam, the collar is now void of the original Pearson Sporting Goods tag. Featuring tackle twill numbers and embroidered Aces team crest, the multi-coloured garment shows good use, with a number of holes present on both sleeves as well as a few on the lower front and back. There is also some red paint transfer on the left sleeve just above the number. Most likely a men’s medium or large, this sweater will fit nicely into any vintage jersey collection.
Regarding possible past usage, this sweater has #6 sleeve and reverse numbers, and a quick check tells us that the jersey could have originally been worn by either John Hanna (played 24 games) or Claude LaForge (played 8 games) in 1967-68, or by Jean Lapointe who played 74 games for the Aces in 1968-69.
