The 1998 New York Yankees won the World Series to cap an incredible 125-50 won-loss record, which included 11 wins in 13 playoff games. The Yankees’ only postseason test came when they needed six games to beat Cleveland in the ALCS after sweeping Texas in the ALDS. Third baseman Scott Brosius was named World Series MVP after a four-game sweep of San Diego. This 1998 Yankees World Series championship ring in near-pristine condition weighs about 39 grams and proudly boasts “Best Ever” at the bottom of the right shank, with their incredible “125-50” record across the top. Presented to a Yankees employee, this dazzling 14-karat gold and diamond creation is identical to the ones the players received and comes in its original presentation box. The iconic crossed NY logo in raised gold set in a dark blue stone on the tableau is encrusted with 24 diamonds, representing each of the Yankees’ 24 World Series titles, which tied them with the Montreal Canadiens for the most championships won by a major North American professional sports team. Another 24 diamonds encircle the inner edge of the bezel, with “1998 World Champions” spelled out in raised gold surrounding the outer edge. The left shank displays the name of a Yankees employee above the Commissioner’s Tropy and “Tradition” at the bottom. "Balfour 14K" is stamped inside the size 9 band. This item might be subject to a silent reserve.
“New York Yankees 1998 World Champions” is etched in the glass window opening on the cover of the wood presentation box, which is very nicely preserved and features a big navy blue velvet bed to hold this precious piece of baseball history.
