The Oilers drank from the Stanley Cup once again in the spring of 1987, one year after their dynasty was interrupted by a heartbreaking playoff loss to arch-rival Calgary. Gretzky, Kurri and Messier finished 1-2-4 in the regular season scoring race, and the Oilers burned through the first three playoff rounds with series wins over Los Angeles (4-1), Winnipeg (4-0) and Detroit (4-1). Philadelphia challenged in the final, the first to go seven games since 1971, but Edmonton came through with a 3-1 win in Game 7. This spectacular 10-karat gold and diamond creation presented to Oilers trainer Barrie Stafford weighs approximately 27 grams. It symbolizes the Oilers' third title in four years with three big diamonds surrounded by 16 smaller diamonds on the tableau and “Stanley Cup Champions 1987" spelled out around the bezel. "Stafford" is spelled out above an enameled Oilers logo on the right shank with "Trainer" on a banner at the bottom. "Oilers" is displayed on the left shank with the team's three championship years engraved onto three raised Cups and the motivational image of a carrot at the bottom. The Balfour hallmark and "10K" are stamped inside the size 10 1/4 band. Magnificently preserved with scratches on the back of the band, a few small marks on the bottom of the right shank. This amazing Oilers Stanley Cup ring comes with Barrie Stafford’s signed LOA.
