Rush job on the nameplate on the back of Glen Featherstone’s Hartford Whalers game-worn jersey means it is likely the defenseman’s home white gamer from late in the 1994-95 season. “Featherstone” is spelled out in individual navy blue twill letters sewn somewhat unevenly onto a white nameplate that has a rough cut along the edges and is stitched on with an open space on the right end. Glen was acquired by the Whalers in a trade with the New York Rangers on March 23, 1995. No one else wore #36 during the regular season so this jersey was likely hastily made up for Featherstone’s use, possibly recycled from preseason games. Size 54 and CCM flag tags sit in the neck, the latter with “36” written on it in black marker. The sleeves have been customized with cuts at the cuffs and the fight strap has rusted shut with salt from sweat. Game wear includes great pilling inside the elbows, a small unrepaired nick above the “3” on the left sleeve, black marks on the back of the left sleeve and a few more marks on the right sleeve, and small marks on the front.
