Argonauts great Bill Symons’ recalls wearing this number 21 jersey for an All-Star Game prior to the 1969 CFL season. Bill was a lock as a 1968 CFL All-Star after claiming the league’s Most Outstanding Player when he rushed for 1,107 yards, becoming the first Toronto player to break the 1,000-yard mark. From Bill Symons’ personal collection, this white cotton football jersey with Russell Southern size L tagging on the left front tail displays number 21 on the front, back and both shoulders in heat-screened red vinyl. The red and blue stripes on each sleeve are also heat-screened vinyl. Bill wore number 33 for the Argos but recalls that it was taken by another player and unavailable so he chose the number 21 he wore prior to his pro career. The vinyl colors remain vibrant and strong and the jersey is nicely preserved with some holes around the numbers on the left shoulder to note and torn stitching on the tails’ hem. Comes with Bill Symons’ signed letter of authenticity.
