The long serving standard for achievement with middle distance runners, the four minute mile was first breached by Roger Bannister in 1954. The British Empire Games held that same year in Vancouver saw both Bannister and Aussie John Landy repeat the feat. This cool group of items from the BE games includes a program to the historic event, it’s complete and in excellent condition with a 1.00$ cover price. Next we have a seldom seen pair of pins from the games, including the official event pin, and they are both in excellent condition. Rounding out the lot we have a few pages from “The Sphere” recapping the event, which just happened to also be the first meeting between Bannister and Landy.
