Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
The 3000 hit club in baseball has always been a small and prestigious group with it’s first member being Cap Anson, who reached that desirable plateau in 1897. Nap Lajoie and Honus Wagner followed suit, both in 1914. Roberto Clemente, as if aided by the baseball gods reached exactly 3000 on his last at bat, and Alex Rodriguez is its newest member achieving his 3000th hit in June of 2015. Sitting on top of this standard for greatness is Pete Rose. On Sept. 11th, 1985, Rose got his 4,192 hit off Eric Show and the San Diego Padres to surpass the immortal Ty Cobb. He would finish his career with an astounding 4,256 hits. This exciting lot includes both a ticket stub to that historic game in 1985, as well as an autographed 8” x 10” photo of Rose on first base after the hit. Both the photo and stub are in excellent condition, and the signature which has been applied in blue sharpie, is big and bold! A must have for any Charlie Hustle or 3000 hit club collector.
