Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
This piece of international hockey history from the inaugural Canada Cup is Bobby Clarke’s 1976 Team Canada game-worn signed pre-tournament jersey. The cross-over neck style was only worn by the team prior to the tournament and would have been worn in pre-tournament practices, inter-squad match-ups and games only. Bobby was ultimately named captain of Team Canada 1976, one of the most powerful hockey teams ever iced with the likes of Orr, Hull, Esposito and Lafleur, but there is no evidence of the captain’s C on this Clarke No. 16 jersey, which is consistent with photos of the Philadelphia Flyers superstar during the pre-tournament / training camp. AK size 46 flag tag sits in the back of the neck and Clarke’s faded black marker signature sits in the middle of the stylized white vinyl Maple Leaf screened on the front, which has a bit of red paint transfer above Bobby’s autograph along with black marks and some undetermined stains in “Canada”. A great Team Canada jersey from a memorable tournament!
