Fine group of pieces signed by men who now look down from the hockey heavens includes a 1937 Chicago Stadium check bearing a big flowing Arthur Wirtz signature and a 1968 Maple Leaf Gardens check made out to and endorsed on the back by King Clancy. Index cards autographed by Dave “Sweeney” Schriner, Art Coulter and Hall of Fame “builders” Hartland Molson, Gordon Juckes, Frank Dilio and Claude Robinson are present, while Red Dutton signed an autograph book-size page, adding “Good Luck” and his years in the NHL. The sigs of Doug Harvey and Dickie Moore are on a thin card stock affair and joined by other athletes, with further details available on our website.
Made out to “F.M. Clancy”, the MLG check is indeed signed “FM Clancy” on the back, while an “H de M Molson” signature is beneath a typed “Canadien Hockey Club, Inc. Montreal” on a 3” by 5” card. That signed by Juckes includes a GAI hologram, with the number matching an accompanying COA. We would say perfect “10” signatures on all the index cards, with the (creased) cardboard piece (3-1/2 x 6-1/2) with the Harvey and Moore autographs also signed by swimmer Carolyn Waldo (personalized) and, on the reverse side, by Dennis Hull, baseball’s Tim Raines and one other unknown. An intriguing lot to help you cross off a few names on your deceased Hockey Hall of Fame autograph wantlist.
