Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
From his days with the AHL Albany River Rats in the mid-1990s comes this lot of eight game-worn or game-issued pieces from goalie Peter Sidorkiewicz’s collection. A goalie mask painted by Frank Cipra and a pair of River Rats game-issued home and away jerseys are featured along with Peter’s photo-matched Cooper game-worn blocker glove and four game-used sticks, which include three Louisville sticks and one Heaton. Cipra has signed and dated “97” inside the chin of the mask, which has a Jerry Wright manufacturer’s sticker inside the top of the head and comes with its straps, case and an additional backplate. The blocker is matched by the pattern of black marks that appear in an action photo of Peter wearing it. Comes with Peter Sidorkiewicz’s signed LOA.
The circa 1996-97 River Rats game-issued red jersey has Bauer Pro and size 56 flag tags in the back of th neck, and Bauer and AHL logos on the right rear tail;
The circa 1995-96 River Rats game-issued white jersey has CCM and size 56 flag tags in the back of the neck, and CCM and AHL logos on the right rear tail;
According to Sidorkiewicz he wore the mask for a few games and there is evidence that it was lightly used but not enough to warrant a “game-worn” attribution;
The photo-matched Cooper game-worn blocker has a team repair on the right little finger and has a few holes worn through on the fingers and palm of the glove;
“Sidorkiewicz” is stamped on the shaft of each of the three Louisville game-used sticks and “P. Sidorkiewicz” is stamped on the shaft of the Heaton game-used stick. All four sticks have Peter’s original tape jobs on the knob and blade.
