The Whitby Dunlops were the toast of international hockey for Canada by winning the 1958 world championship in Oslo, Norway. Between Allan Cup wins in 1957 and 1959, the Ontario-based senior team led its country back to the top of the hockey world by defeating the Soviet Union in 1958. HOFer Harry Sinden captained a squad that boasted the likes of Sid Smith and Bobby Attersley, and the lot of memorabilia offered here celebrates their world title with many vintage and autographed pieces as well as a substantial reproduction ring. Vintage pennants, programs, newspapers, pictures and pins are among the great finds celebrating a standout moment in Canada’s international hockey history.
Huge reproduction ring features the Whitby Dunlops logo on the tableau with World Champions above and below within a bed of shimmering stones on the tableau, which is is surrounded by larger shimmering stones around the bezel. “1958 World Champions” is displayed on the right shank with Allan Cup Champions 1957-1959 displayed on the left shank of the size 12 bauble;
Dunlops multi-signed tribute jersey signed by HOFer Harry Sinden, Bobby Attersley, Sid Smith and others;
Collection of 22 vintage pins, not necessarily from a Dunlops player, that includes many rarities among the Oslo 1958 Norwegian Hockey Federation player pin, USSR, Czechoslovakia, Germany and others;
Bob Attersley has signed the cover of each of two vintage Dunlops programs;
Marc Reaume is pictured on the torn cover of a Dunlops vs. Spokane Maple Leaf Gardens program;
Attersely is one of four signatures on a 7 x 11 photo of the Dunlops taped to a pressboard backing;
