Dazzling 1977-78 Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup championship ring is the one that was presented to captain Yvan Cournoyer to commemorate the Habs’ third straight title. The Roadrunner scored seven times in 15 playoff games during Montreal’s 12-3 run to the Cup through a trio of Original Six opponents, Detroit, Toronto and Boston. Originally from the HOF right wing’s personal collection, the 14-karat gold ring weighs approximately 40 grams and features 27 real diamonds set in a bed of white gold on the raised tableau, which differs from other 1977-78 Canadiens Stanley Cup rings that we have sold as it was originally modified by Cournoyer. “NHL 1978 Champions” is spelled out around the bezel while “Cournoyer”, the CH logo, and “Champions East 59-10-11” appears on the right shank. The left shank reads “Stanley Cup” across the top with each of the 21 years the Canadiens won the Cup surrounding a raised image of the Cup, with “Club de Hockey Canadien” at the bottom. "Jostens 14K" is stamped inside the size 11 1/2 band, which has Cournoyer's engraved facsimile autograph. Wonderfully preserved with still sharp details and proud wear that shows in various scratches and marks, mostly on the back of the band. Comes with Yvan Cournoyer's signed LOA.
