HOF centers Dave Keon and Darryl Sittler and 1972 Summit Series hero Paul Henderson are featured in this lot of three early-1970s Maple Leafs game-used sticks. The late Jacques Plante and fellow HOFer Norm Ullman are among the pale signatures that can be made out on Keon’s team-signed Sher-Wood with “14 Keon” stamped on the shaft. “Henderson” is stamped below the knob on Paul’s CCM Custom Pro, and “D. Sittler” is stamped below Darryl’s taped knob on his Sher-Wood gamer.
Keon’s stick has his original tape job on the knob and tape removed from the straight blade. The date "4/5/72" is handwritten on the shaft along with "1st playoff game”, and there is a "20 Mar 1972" date stamp. Pelyk, MacMillan and Selwood are among the other autographs that can be made out. Some moisture stains along the bottom edge of the shaft while game use includes black marks low on the shaft. The Henderson stick has Paul’s original tape jobs and a handwritten date that appears to be "2/1/73" on the shaft. , detail stick and game wear. The Sittler stick has Darryl’s original tape jobs on the knob and blade, which had tape put over the chip/crack on the top edge. The sides of the stick are partially sanded down as seen on photos of Sittler from that era. There is a "Jan 11 1974" date stamp and "4/7/74 playoffs" is handwritten on the top side of the shaft.
