Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
For the eighth time in nine seasons the 1956-57 Detroit Red Wings won the Prince of Wales Trophy with a first place finish atop the NHL standings. HOF center Alex Delvecchio received this ring to commemorate the Wings’ 38-22-12 mark. This 10-karat bauble from Delvecchio’s personal collection has a real diamond set in the Winged Wheel logo on the red stone in the tableau. The art deco band has what remains of a well-worn “Champs” on one shank, and “NHL” on the other along with the “5” from the well-worn ’57 with the latter digit lost to smoothing from proud wear. "A.P. Delvecchio" is partially worn off inside the size 7 1/2 band that has a “10K” stamp. Comes with Alex Delvecchio's signed LOA.
Wonderfully preserved NHL championship ring has surface scratches from years of obviously proud wear.
