These 2 great pairs of jerseys and pants pay homage to some of the great uniforms worn throughout Major League Baseball history. Included are a matching set of game-worn 1969 throwback Chicago Cubs jersey and pants worn by Dan Straily on July 13 2014 in a game against Atlanta, and a matching pair of game-worn 1953 throwback jersey and pants worn by Carlos Villanueva on June 22 2014 in a game against Pittsburgh. Both garments are part of the MLB Authentication Program.
The breakdown for both uniforms offered in this lot are as follows;
1 - 1969 Chicago Cubs throwback jersey and pants game-worn by Dan Straily. With Majestic Authentic patch on the lower front and additional patch on collar stating “19 48 1969”, there’s also an MLB “100th Anniversary” patch on the right sleeve. In excellent condition overall, with just some light dirt staining on the chest area. The MLB hologram serial number HZ331123 has been affixed to the back number “9”. The pants have Majestic Authentic patch in the waistband, with additional patch stating “19 35-42 24 OB C 1969”. In excellent condition overall, the MLB hologram serial number HZ331190 has also been affixed to the inner waistband.
2 - 1953 Chicago Cubs throwback jersey and pants worn by Carlos Villanueva. With Majestic Authentic patch and size 48 tag on the lower front and additional patch on collar stating “33 48 1953”, there’s also an MLB patch across the back neckline. In excellent condition overall, the MLB hologram serial number HZ280544 has been affixed to the second back number “3”. The pants have Majestic Authentic patch in the waistband, with additional patch stating “33 38-45 24 OB 1953”. In excellent condition overall, the MLB hologram serial number HZ280575 has also been affixed to the inner waistband.
