The playoff MVP the previous season, Bob Guindon helped the Winnipeg Jets repeat as Avco Cup champions in ‘78-79, making it three championships in four seasons. After sweeping past Quebec in the semi-finals, the Jets beat Wayne Gretzky and the regular season champion Edmonton Oilers in a memorable 6-game final, with the ultimate 7-3 victory coming May 20th at the Winnipeg Arena. Guindon's awesome mesh jersey from the '79 playoffs has a "XL" fly tag in the neck below a completely washed out 2-inch square tag. The Jets crest is screened-on while the numbers on the back and sleeves are in tackle twill and sewn-on. "Guindon" is heat-pressed onto the knit nameplate and a 2-lace fight strap is sewn into the tail. Game use includes half a dozen black slash marks on the front, a few more on each sleeve and a 1-inch team repair with cloth backing in the middle of the red stripe on the front. Originally from Guindon's personal collection.
