Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
A sensational early WHA game-worn jersey offered, with this being Ron Climie's 1973-74 Edmonton Oilers heavy knit gamer from the franchise's second season in the WHA. Featured is the white chain-stitched "Ron Climie" nameplate, the only year in which the team used the players' full names on the backs of the jerseys. This jersey also has a chain-stitched team crest, while the numbers are orange and white tackle twill on the sleeves, and purple on white fabric numbers on the back. Puckering is on the team's crest and marks are scattered about, although much of the wear has been washed away. The left sleeve has a pair of team repairs. An absolute gem from the WHA and Edmonton Oilers early years. The gamer has no tagging whatsoever, which was a trait common to this particular set, but these uniforms were manufactured by Western Athletic during the team's first two seasons.
