The first European player in history to captain the mighty Montreal Canadiens, Saku Koivu enjoyed a lengthy NHL career with the Habs and Anaheim while also representing Finland internationally throughout a number of tournaments. This Team Finland jersey was worn by the superstar in pre-tournament games at the 1999 World Championships. An LSW label with “XXL” sizing is affixed to the collar, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 56. All identifiers including the team crest and “11” over the sleeves and verso have been sublimated, with “Koivu” across the affixed ventilated nameplate. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany. Addendum; according to information received this jersey would have been worn by Koivu at the 1999 World Hockey Championships in pre-tournament games. The title and description of the item have been revised with this new information.
Showing light game-use, a few marks are visible over the front and reverse, with additional marks and faint burns over the sleeves.
