Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Playing in Des Moines as the Iowa Wild since 2013, the Houston Aeros franchise witnessed almost two decades of professional hockey, first seeing action in the IHL from 1994 until 2001, then in the AHL – after the IHL folded – from 2001-2013. We have an Aeros home jersey that was worn by goaltender and 1995 Vancouver Canucks draft choice Troy Gamble in 1995-96. A ProWear label and size “56G” fly tag remain affixed to the collar, with Bauer and IHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with a partially embossed Aeros team crest that pays homage to World War II bombers, the mesh V-neck has been embellished with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching air force-style patches over each shoulder. There is also a sponsorship crest present from Budweiser, along with a 1996 IHL All-Star Game patch. Great use is exhibited on the sweater with numerous dark marks over the front and sleeves, along with small holes near the team crest and on the lower left sleeve. There is also some minor pilling in spots, along with light red paint transfer over each elbow section.
