Transitioning to Minnesota from Cleveland after a pair of seasons backstopping the short-lived Barons, Gary Edwards guarded NHL creases in over 275 contests, and was a first-round draft selection of St Louis in 1968. From the late-1970s, we have a stick used by Edwards during his time with the North Stars (1978-80). A Northland Pro model with “Edwards” and “1” stamped to the upper shaft, there are also stamps from team supplier Larson Industries, with the original black tape in place over the blade and paddle, and white over the knob. Considerable game-use is shown with heavy wear to the taped section of blade including tears, with cracks and material loss at the toe. There are also additional marks to the shaft along with small areas or red paint transfer. We should note that Edwards never wore the #1 with Minnesota, but based on the style of the stick along with the Larson stamps, we believe this model was most likely used at or near the beginning of his time with the North Stars (1978-79).
