Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Appearing in the AHL and QMJHL after being drafted by Montreal in 1991, Jim Campbell spent time with six different NHL clubs before finishing out his career in the Swiss league. We have a Montreal Canadiens jersey from 1992-93, with preseason use attributed to “Soup” in 1993-94, 1994-95 or 1995-96. With evidence of a former shorter nameplate, a sewn-down Maska label sits along the collar. Measuring-out to roughly a size 45, embroidered NHL and CCM crests have been placed over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the most famous team crest in hockey, “44” appears over the sleeves and verso in white-over-blue tackle twill, with “Campbell” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill along with the 1993 All-Star Game patch just above the right breast. A few fabric pulls are present, with faint burns over each sleeve along with small resulting holes near each elbow. There is also some light pilling beneath the team crest. A team LOA will be included, signed on behalf of the Canadiens by Rejean Houle.
