Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Celebrating international hockey and the World Championships, we have a collection of vintage items including a scarce first-round World Championship program from 1937 (GB vs Germany/Norway vs Czechoslovakia), a multi-signed Penticton V’s fold-over souvenir with team photo, an unused 1955 Penticton transfer decal (3” x 4 ½”) in it’s original packaging, a set of 12 “Series 12 Eishockey” stamps from circa-1926 affixed to an original album backing, a 1917 European Championships stamp (Munich) along with additional stamps, a 1958 USA vs Canada World Championships media photo and 9 vintage hockey envelopes including first-day covers.
The 1937 program feature’s intact center line-ups, with the covers detached (1 solid piece) along with heavy rusting to the staples and foxing to the interior. The 1926 stamps exhibit no issues, with the album page approx. 8” x 10” with a rough-cut edge and toning. Next, the Penticton’s signed piece is a small fold-over card at 3 ½” x 9 ¼” (unfolded), with a colour team photo on the right along with approx. 8 signing on the left including V’s Dick, Bill and Grant Warwick. The 1958 photo (7” x 9”) shows light wear, with an accompanying paper media credit from the Associated Press, while the stamps include three-stamp sets from 1966, along with First Day Covers from 1956, 1965 and 1967.
