Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Featuring one of the greatest line-ups the sport has ever witnessed, the 1909-10 Renfrew Hockey Club boasted four iconic HOFers who would all impact the game in a major way, including Cyclone Taylor and Newsy Lalonde, along with the Patrick brothers, Frank and Lester. We have a highly-desirable real photo postcard featuring the fabled club. At the standard 3 ½” x 5 ½”, the full team is pictured in an oval-frame collage, with this image taken from a larger cabinet photo. With a divided postal reverse that remains clean, the antique postcard exhibits some light toning and corner wear, with a few surface scuffs/lines visible. Renfrew was a founding member of the National Hockey Association (NHA) which began in 1909 and ran through until the formation of the NHL in 1917.
