Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
The Montreal Expos brought back their unique red, white and blue caps and 1980s uniforms for a home game against the New York Mets on September 15, 2002. Pitcher Tony Armas Jr. has signed his retro jersey that he wore along with the included pants as starter Javier Vazquez shut down the Mets for a 10-1 win at Olympic Stadium. Armas’ bold black marker autograph sits below the colorful triple twill team logo with “Expos” stitched on in individual sewn-on blue twill letters on the left breast. Mitchell & Ness tagging in the back of the neck has a size XXL flag tag. Cooperstown Collection tagging is on the left front tail. The jersey and the pants each have MLB Authentication hologram stickers. Comes with original invoice.
Pants have Mitchell & Ness tagging, a laundry instruction flag tag and Armas’ number 36 written in black marker on the inner waistband. There are clay stains on the upper right knee and light stains on the seat of the pants, particularly on the middle seam. Both the jersey and the pants have areas of very, very faint pinkish-red lines, likely bleeding from the red stripe stretchy knit inserts.
