Considered the most difficult to locate Black Hawks Group 1 Bee Hive photo is that of Dave MacKay and thus has long been sought by longtime collectors. The example here is in nice collectible condition, with a problem-free picture applied to a beige backing which includes very minor wear at the rather sharp corners. A light diagonal one-inch bend in the lower left corner results in a light crease, only affecting the back of the backing, if you follow. Following a 29-game stint with the Hawks in 1940-41, Edmonton-born MacKay had his request to go to Chicago in October of ’41 rejected by the Alberta Military Authority, ending his NHL dream and any further Bee Hive production.
