Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

With 23 solid seasons as a player on his resume and now GM for the Carolina Hurricanes, Ron Francis was as consistent and as talented as just about anyone he played with and against during his amazing career, and the remarkable fellow whose name is engraved twice on the Stanley Cup was ultimately inducted into the HOF in 2007. Simply a star among stars was this Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. native, and to put it all into perspective, he garnered a breathtaking 1798 points in 1731 regular season NHL games, placing him 4th behind only Gretzky, Messier, and Howe. From the mid-1990s when Ron skated with the Pittsburgh Penguins (and collected the Lady Byng and Selke Trophies in ’94-95) is this game-used Louisville TPS, featuring his original tape jobs on the blade and knob, and with “Francis” stamped on the upper shaft. A great gamer from a great player, with marks from top to bottom, and a serial number stamped above the heel. Awesome stick from one of the best ever.
