Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Classic Providence Reds cartoon logo patch sewn on the front of this 1969-71 game-worn jersey from the old AHL team features intricate and colorful embroidery. Cosby, size 44, and “69” year flag tags remaining in the hem have fraying at their tips. Number 4 is sewn on the back in red twill, and in white twill on each sleeve. Jersey has two team repairs on the right sleeve. More game wear includes black marks on the right front, a black mark on the back and red paint transfer on the white stripe on the front of the right sleeve.
Round logo features multi-colored thread embroidering on an off-white cotton background outlined in red and white stitching.
From information we found, Tony Goegan wore #4 for the Reds in 1969-70, and Neil Nicholson wore the same number in 1970-71, either or both of these players may have worn this gamer.
