Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
A big, bold red marker Wayne Gretzky autograph covers most of the now-bare blade of the Great One’s Titan TPM game-used stick from his record-smashing 1981-82 season. Wayne roared past Phil Esposito’s single-season goal mark and finished with 92 goals and 212 points with the up-and-coming Edmonton Oilers. “Dec 7 1981” factory date stamp sits low on the back of the shaft with pencil “WG” notation further down just above the heel. “W. Gretzky” is stamped on the shaft and Wayne’s No. “99” is handwritten further up in black marker, below Wayne’s well-worn tape job on the knob. “99” is also written in marker low on the shaft and game wear includes red goalpost paint transfer and black marks on the shaft. Comes with Shawn Chaulk’s signed LOA.
