The Babe takes batting practice in this great 11 1/4” x 17 ½” colored page from Montreal’s La Presse, dated Oct. 13, 1928, with the caption in French saying that the slugger’s salary was more than the President of the United States. (Of course that goes for most pro athlethes nowadays). This great page is in wonderful condition with just one small tear on the upper left edge, and would look simply amazing in a frame. Also included is an undated 11” x 16” page from the National Police Gazette featuring “Hard-hitting batsman” Sherwood Magee, who played for Boston’s “World’s Champion team”, which we deduce to be either 1915 or 1916 when he was with the champion Red Sox. This page is pink in tone and aside from a slight natural aging, has just one small tear on the right side. Two incredibly nice and large images from America’s pastime, with the Bambino leading off.
