Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Nothing like a good old game of table hockey to get the juices flowing, and we have a circa-late 1940s Munro example, measuring 37" x 14 1/2", with all wooden milk bottle-shaped pins (players) and both knitted nets complete on the wooden surface and frame with plastic surroundings. This primitive table hockey game, a forerunner to the mechanical “tin men in NHL uniforms” versions, has a normal amount of nicks and paint scrapes and such acquainted with kids of all ages getting carried away, but is still in fine working order, although the original ball is no longer. To note are the lines and circles, which appear to be hand drawn onto the surface. Munro table hockey games were first introduced in 1932, with the type of game offered here in production, with various designs, until 1955.
