Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Always interesting are NHL documents such as Assignment Agreements, with this being one between the Habs and Leafs in 1982 in which D-man Gaston Gingras was shipped to Toronto in exchange for Toronto’s 2nd round pick in the 1985 or ’86 entry draft. Gingras had played parts of 4 seasons in Montreal when this deal went down, and would lace ‘em up for just over 2 campaigns in Toronto. This document, in excellent condition, has been signed in blue ink by Habs GM Irving Grundman and Leafs counterpart Gerry McNamara, along with 2 witnesses including Gord Stellick who would graduate to Leafs GM later in the 1980s. Also included in this package is a Gingras traffic violation lawyer’s report, several doctor’s medical reports on Gingras, a short, typed note to Gingras from McNamara, a note from McNamara to Serge Savard regarding the trade, and a copy of Gingras’ 1982-85 contract agreed upon while with the Canadiens.
