Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Based on the amazing story of the 1980 U.S. Olympic team that somehow found a way to beat the mighty Soviets at Lake Placid and go on to win the gold medal against Finland is the 2004 film "Miracle", starring Kurt Russell as coach Herb Brooks, and including Sam Skoryna, who played backup goaltender Steve Janaszak. We have the movie's jersey worn or prepared for Skoryna/Janaszak, a style used in the famous "AGAIN" scene when, in a pre-tournament game against Norway, the players seemed more distracted by young ladies in the crowd than the game, which caused coach Brooks to run them ragged afterwards, asking who it was they were playing for, which seem to motivated and change the mentality of the squad. Tagged in the collar as a size "58" with a handwritten "#1" alongside, this mesh jersey is gorgeous in its understated way, with the double tackle twill "USA" crest on the front and "Janaszak" in single twill on the back nameplate. A sensational jersey from a fine hockey movie directed by Gavin O'Connor. Comes with an LOA.
