Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Offered is Halak's game-worn Centennial jersey from this memorable 2009-2010 season, from November 21, 2009, a night when Halak was the back-up to Price in a game against the Detroit Red Wings. Tagged in the collar as a size 58 goalie-style, this Halak Set 1 gamer has a handwritten "1" in black marker in the collar, with the jersey, a replica of the blue 1909-10 version, featuring the Centennial patch sewn on the right shoulder. This gamer is unmarked, and includes a Canadiens registry patch sewn on the inside hem with numbers that match the enclosed LOA signed by a representative of the Habs. A hologram on the back number also matches the one on the LOA. Months before Habs goaltender Jaroslav Halak would become the talk of the hockey world with his brilliant performances against the Capitals and Penguins in the postseason, the Slovakia-born goaltender shared duties on a regular basis with young Carey Price as the season wore on.
