Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
White knit CCM gamer worn by noted netminder Pete Peeters for the post-season series matchup against the Montreal Canadiens in 1985. Just like the black photo-matched Butch Goring uniform from this rare set, one which we previously offered at auction, this jersey has no fight strap and the neck tagging is no longer in the collar. A large CCM logo with the registered "R" is screened onto the tail, typical of both home and road styles from this set. Nice wear throughout suggests some earlier use or perhaps put some use on it during the pre-season the following year. A series of black stick or puck marks can be found on the front with more marks and washed-out wear on the arms and shoulders. A few light red post pain marks are there on the back with some feint red marks on one arm. Best are the bear crests at the shoulders and the custom-shortened and hemmed cuffs, often found on goalie game jerseys from the period. Peeters was an NHL regular for 13 seasons with the Flyers, Bruins and Capitals and won a Vezina trophy back in 1982-83.
