Historic Martin Brodeur game-worn jersey marked the NHL debut of the jersey number that has come to symbolize the all-time goalie wins and shutout leader. According to Brodeur's family this is the first #30 New Jersey Devils jersey he ever wore for a regular season game. Marty did not see any action with New Jersey in 1992-93, though he was called up on an emergency basis late in the season and dressed as the backup goalie on March 29, 1993 when Chris Terreri recorded the shutout in New Jersey's 5-0 win over San Jose. Brodeur wore No. 29 for the four games he played in 1991-92, the last season of the Devils' old green, red and white color scheme. New Jersey switched to red, black and white the following season and Marty began the pre-season with No. 30, which will undoubtedly be retired by the Devils if he ever stops playing! Marty gifted this 1992-93 game-worn jersey with the Stanley Cup centennial patch sewn on the right breast to his father, the late Denis Brodeur. The jersey has evidence of a former nameplate and Maska and size 52 flag tags remain in the back of the neck. There are red marks on the right hip, another above the Devils crest, and some very light stains on the tails and cuffs and below the front collar and other marks that may not be from game wear do not diminish the display of this unique Brodeur gamer. Comes with an LOA from Denis Brodeur Jr.
