Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
From the 2010 CBC two-part mini-series “Keep Your Head Up, Kid: The Don Cherry Story” comes a terrific Montreal Canadiens white 60s-style jersey worn by the actor who portrayed Habs defenceman Serge Savard in the film. Tagged on the inside hem as “Sports Studio (size) 48, this classic Habs jersey, with the laced necked and all pro letters and numbers, has a small amount of stains, mostly on the back near the number “18”, which probably occurred during one of the on-ice hockey sequences. We also see what might be red board paint transfer on the back, and a touch of pilling throughout. The movie centers on the outspoken Cherry’s minor league playing career and oft-discussed time as coach of the Boston Bruins, and as far as this great Habs replica jersey goes, we’re giving it five stars and two thumbs up! Comes with an LOA from Sports Studio.
