Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

These aren’t just any skates worn by legendary HOFer Brad Park (inducted in 1988), they’re the final pairs he wore while with the last two teams of his long and storied 18-season career, the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings. Both sets of gamers are “Daoust National 301s” with the Bruins’ pair, from the 1982-83 campaign, showing lots of game wear with scuffs and nicks (particularly on the toes), with the blades retaining very little at the ends from a serious amount of sharpening. Number “22” is handwritten in black marker on the bottom of each boot, and Park has signed the see-through TUUK blade holder in bold blue marker as “Brad Park 22 HOF ‘88”. We also have Park’s final skates from the ’84-’85 season while with the Red Wings, with these “Daoust” gamers having an equal amount of marks and nicks throughout. Number “22” is handwritten in red marker on the bottom of the each boot, and the HOFer has signed the white TUUK blade holder in blue marker as “Last Game-Worn Skates B.P” on one and “Brad Park 22” on the other. It goes without saying that Brad Park was one of the greatest defencemen of his generation, and if it wasn’t for a guy named Orr, would surely have collected a basket full of Norris Trophies along the way. These important game-used skates were originally obtained from the collection of Brad Park.
