Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Fantastic photo-matched 1984-85 Minnesota North Stars white mesh home gamer with team repairs was worn by forward Tony McKegney, who was acquired midway through the season in a trade with Quebec. Steichen's tagging in the neck is sewn directly on top of the Maska tag, which has size "54" handwritten in ballpoint. Evidence of a removed former nameplate is visible on the inside of the jersey which has a double cloth fight strap and is matched by the placement of the numbers on the left sleeve and a mark on the left front tail. More game wear includes green marks and reddish-brown stains on the right sleeve. McKegney had 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points in 27 games with Minnesota in 1984-85 after he was acquired from Quebec along with Bo Berglund on Dec. 14, 1984 in a trade that sent Brad Maxwell and Brent Ashton to the Nordiques.
A photo of McKegney posed in this jersey shows the placement of the sewn-on numbers on the left sleeve, with the “5” at an angle and sewn on lower than the “2” to its left. It is also matched to the bigger green mark on the left front hem. There are four team repairs on the left sleeve and another sewing fix on the right sleeve. Steichen's is embroidered in green on the left rear tail and the CCM logo patch sewn on the right has the “r” for registered mark.
