Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

The Michigan Stags were one of several short-lived teams in the seven-year history of the World Hockey Association. The Stags came about when the Los Angeles Sharks relocated to the Detroit area following the 1973-74 season and they only lasted until January of 1975, when they folded for financial reasons 43 games into the 78-game schedule. Defenseman Jerry Zrymiak wore this rare Stags gamer after time with the Los Angeles Sharks and before playing on with the resuscitated franchise in Baltimore, where the renamed Blades finished out the schedule before ceasing operations at season's end. This red durene jersey is missing the Wilson tag in the neck but the garter-type fight strap remains intact. Black, red and white triple-twill #23 is sewn onto the back as well as both sleeves and Zrymiak's surname is spelled out in individual white twill letters sewn onto a red nameplate. Game wear is easy to spot with a handful of solid stick marks and stains to add to a single team repair. Here's a rare opportunity to add a particularly elusive WHA gamer to your jersey collection.
