Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
It was a controversial overtime goal by Brett Hull in the spring of 1999 that allowed the Dallas Stars to sip from Lord Stanley's mug, the team's first and only Cup, and we have a Stars' original Stanley Cup ring from that momentous occasion, a size 14 bauble engraved on the inner band as "14K", weighing in at approximately 50 grams, proudly displaying the Stars' logo set on a sea of green. "Stanley Cup Champions 1999" makes its way around the face, with raised lettering on one shank reading as "Dallas Stars Relentless" with the NHL shield, while the opposite shank shows the image of the Cup and the name "Oliver", which is most likely for Chris Oliver, a Stars staff member. This huge beauty, accompanied by an LOA, has been preserved in wonderful condition with a scattering of small nicks and minimal surface scratching. Large and magnificent, like the state of Texas.
